Thomas and Henry Rivire was here for supper I and the negroes all got wet this evening gathering corn I cut a sugar cain out of Aunt Nancys cain patch Nothing more of importance for today. Saturday, October 12th, 1861. No rain clear and cool Aunt is somewhat calm Bery and Eliza went to Bainbridge Eliza borrowed 10 cents from me today finished gathering corn today Dr. Thomas and Henry Rivire was here to dinner Joseph Butler was here to dinner I went to mothers and Mrs. Gany was there Bro Raford is very sick and Dr. Thomas went to Jos Butlers for some thread for AUnt N Bro Rafe is still very sick Sunday, October 13th, 1861. No rain warm R. R. Ingram was taken very sick with the fevor and a pain in his head and he had a spasm today Monday, October 14th, 1861. R. R. Ingram is still sick Capt King and the citizens met at the church for the purpose of organizing & going into camps Tuesday, October 15th, 1861. Rafe is still sick Aunt Nancy is in a good humor Capt Kings Company went into camps with a no of six Wednesday, October 16th, 1861. Rafe is still sick Thursday, October 17th, 1861. Rafe is still very Friday, October 18th, 1861. Rafe is still sick I hauled on e load of Rafes corn from the Portvine place Saturday, October 19th, 1861. 14 troops was in camp today a general turnout of the citizens was at the camp Titus the great Dancing Master was at camp and played the fiddle and picked the banjo Monday, October 21st, 1861. Mr. E. E. Wright borrowed fifteen dollars $15.00 Bought one beef steer from Mrs. E. E. Wright at 15 dollars E dr to 10 cts Tuesday, October 22nd, 1861. Hauled Bro Rafes corn and sold about 1 1/2 bushells to Portvine for one doller Hired him to help gather Rafe corn he chareged me 2 dollars for one and a half day and his son one day Hauled one load for mother Bro Rafe is very sick yet the weather is very warm no rain Aunt Nancy is not so ill Dr. W. T. Thomas eate supper with us McGill and Barrineau was here after supper Wednesday, October 23rd, 1861. Finished gathering mothers corn Aunt Nancy let me and July and Jacob take her wagon and mules to haul it Bro Rafe was wors today No rain but warm Thursday, October 24th, 1861. Cool & pleasant very fair taken 9 head of hogs to mothers field of her own Aunt went to Bainbridge Friday, October 25th, 1861. Dug seed cain somewhat warm and cloudy till evening then commenced to rain very mild too I went to the camp 2 times fetched 2 cows and calves from the field marked one sow this morning Bro Rafe is still very sick Mr. B. B. Wright went to see him and asked God to pardon his sins Aunt is come to the conclusion nearly to let me alone Monday, October 28th, 1861. A sad day t me my Br R. R. Ingram died R. R. Ingram departed this life Tuesday, October 29th, 1861. he was buried Wednesday, October 30th, 1861. I went to Bainbridge
