	Capt Cormell with his company of volunteers left Bainbridge
on the boat about 4 oclock P M    Rain again

Thursday, August 15th, 1861.

	I marked 2 calvs at Munnerlyns Qr   discription the mothers
both black,    the calves deep red   Steers now marked 2 under
bits in one ear a split in the other Brand Jo,   Cloudy and threaten
rain all day

Friday, August 16th, 1861.

	Cloudy and rain afternoon    finished pulling fodder

Saturday, August 17th, 1861.

	Rain nearly all day  Pretty har flows of wind

Sunday, August 18th, 1861.

	Jake had a sing   all got somewhat frighten about a hors
attempt to run away   Aunt Nancy went to Dr. Bills

Monday, August 19th, 1861.

	Rain till dinner then began to clear up  Made baskets
with some of the hands   July fixed the cart boddy
got the cart from Munnerlyns shop that was carried for repare
Aunt Nancy is calm to me now - but gives Jake a gooddeal
of trouble

Tuesday, August 20th, 1861.

	No rain, pleasant weather    A surprise party took place
at Mr. Wm C. Thomas   all went well with the young
Misses L Mitchell C Barrineau MJ Gray M J Shaw and N Donalson
A Rivire was there  the jentlmen Mr Mrs Thomas E Woodered
W King T Gray W Mitchell  L Sanders

Saturday, August, 24th, 1861.

	This is a day memorable for one of the greatest scolding
and the most quarrelling that I ever witnessed done by Aunt Nancy
Mills, the trees fairly trembled with shame for their mrs
No rain  Capt W. D. Griffin held muster at Faceville
50 men was there to drill

Tuesday August 27th, 1861.

	I found a negro in Aunt Nancys field   he run and go away
A small shower of rain fell

Wednesday, August 28th, 1861.

	Mr. James Blunt come down with his hands and traled a negro
to Mr. Munnerlyns or then away from there  and back again
Mr. L. J. Sanders & Mr. A Shaw  Mr. M. Lang  Mr. J. F. Stanton 
& myself was all in the drive  we caught nothing   It rained
we all got wet and quit the drive  Chelson caught Stephen a r
runaway  Mr. Thomas and Aunt Nancy had all the fun with him

Thursday, August 29th, 1861.

	Rain  Bery killed a beef   one he bought from John Wright
We put a silo under the gin house   Commenced gathering corn
Today quite early Dr. Thomas and family all come over today
Dr. Law come   Uncle John Ingram come for some medison for 
Uncle Jackson Ingram  Jake and myself eate a good bate of
water melons today

Friday, August 30th, 1861.

	J. F. Stanton killed a fine buck the first that he had ever 
killed   Charles Munnerlyn, Jr. shot a deer  Mr. Lang and 
Mr. McLauchlyn, old Uncle Billie was along, the dogs that was in
the chas Rufus Old Leon Ring and Bunk  Rained   Aunt was not mad

Saturday, August 31st, 1861.

	T. J. Strickland had a sale  I bought one cow and calf at 
$11   Mrs. Wilson come here to dinner  No rain here

Wednesday, September 4th, 1861.

	We all went deer hunting but did not kill any   Rained

Thursday, September 5th, 1861.

	Rain   Aunt went to the field and then dined with Mrs.
C. Thomas   Jake went with her  Dr. Thomas and J. G. Donalson
started to Florida

Friday, September 6th, 1861.

	Rain   Aunt went to A McLauchlyn to dine  She is quite ill yet

Saturday, September 7th, 1861.

	We drill at the Fowltown Academy  J. F. Stanton acted as 
capt    J. L. Sanders  W. Thomas and A. Shaw was the 
privetts   Went driving for deer  got 2 up but killed none
I went to mark my calves but was disappointed  Aunt Nancy got
up tremendus mad or cross and went to Dr. Thomas and give Molie
one of the wors scoldings that any one ever taken  Jake is still
on the scout yet

Sunday, September 8th, 1861.

	No rain   I went to McNabs found him not at home   Mrs.
McLuchlyn came over this morning   Aunt was very ill again
No preachin at the church  J. F. Stanton had a sing  Misses
C. Fain  A Thomas  E. Shaw and MJ Gray was all at the sing
Mrs. Griffin was there  The gentlemen was T. D. Sanders, L. J.
Sanders, J. T. Smith, W. Thomas, A. Shaw  Jo Askin and my self
J. T. Smith and myself went to Dr. Thomas and taken supper
Miss S Martin was here today

Monday, September 9th, 1861.

	H. B. Waugh bargain for my cows
