Monday, July 15th, 1861. Mr. John Wright come to Dr. Bills sent to mill for 11 Confederates Dr. Thomas and family visited Wm. B. Freemans Tuesday, July 16th, 1861. Wm. B. Freeman went to Bainbridge to cary meal to the women Rain again moderate shower Wednesday, July 17th, 1861. Got over plowing the cotton the fourth time old land Commenced to use Fox as a saddle nag Aunt give Stanton one of the worst scoldings that lay in her power She continue to make every one miserable about her with with but little intermition Her health is pretty good Thursday, July 18th, 1861. I went to Wm B. Freemans just after breakfast and we taken a cow hunt through the Lewis place thence Munnerlyn out on the River to the Freemans old field and garden place and all over the pine woods about there, then around Munnerlyns field in the swamp some We come to Mr. M. Lang to dinner He had a variety of vegetables and other substantials in all was a good dinner for I was quite hungry After this we returned home and on our way heard bad news about the fight, I got a letter from Bro. W. J. Ingram dated June 24th, one from J. W. Thomas one from A. B. Thomas Friday, July 19th, 1861. M. Lang was here to breakfast with the view of takinga deer hunt which we did and had a considerable chase of about 2 hours long, after Stanton had shot the Deer twice Lang shot it 2 times and killed it so Mr. and Mrs. Lang was with us for diner No more today only it rained again and Aunt is in a fine humor July 20th, 1861. Bro John come over from Chattahoochee to remain until Monday J. F. Stanton had a sing at the church in the evening Pop kicked him The rest behaved very well rain Aunt is not mad Sunday, July 21st, 1861. I called at Mr. W. C. Thomas in the morning L Sanders come to Aunt Nancy B Freeman and his wife called Dr. White preached Misses S and N Donalson were at church Stan had another sing Sunday Billie Thomas,Jr. and Gus Shaw called today Monday, July 22nd, 1861 I went to the river with Bro John on his way home Aunt has gone to Mr. Fains Saturday, July 27th, 1861. I went to Bainbridge and times are very dull Sunday, July 28th, 1861 Capt Bird came home from Virginia Monday, July 29th, 1861. B. B. Wright, Jr. one of the Bainbridge Independence arrived home to remain about 30 days Tuesday, July 30th, 1861 H. Rain I went to William Donalsons dined with him he was sick J. T. Hines was there and his wife Called at John Donalson in the afternoon John B. Donalson and his wife was there all well and lively Stopped at John Ingrams Abraham Thomas came to J. B. Donalsons On my way home I met Mc and his wife Dr. Bill and his got home before sundown Stanton had a sing at the church
