Saturday, June 29th, 1861.

	All the men in the Faceville district mustered at Mr. 
Butts mill   No about 50
	J. F. Stanton was here
	Dr. W. Thomas went to Chattahoochee to meet with Miss
Adalin Riviere his  sisterinlaw to bring her home with him.
	I let the negroes work in their crops today till it rained and
then set out vines
	Mother received a letter from B Willy J. Ingram who is in 
Va.   I got a letter from James Thomas from Pensacola


Sunday, June 30th, 1861

	A dedication of the new church in hack took place today
	Another pretty hard rain fell today
	Bery Freeman started to Hack, his hors got sick and he was
disappointed
	T. D. Sanders, B. Rogers, J. Fain, W. Thomas A Shaw and myself
was out all knight Saturday patrolling

Monday, July 1st, 1861.

	Sticking out vines again today   the ground is wet
	I had a severe head ache
	Wm B. Freeman was toknight

Tuesday, July 2nd, 1861.

	Aunt is in a fine humor   no rain but all day warm and cloudy
finished sticking out potato vines  kill 2 sheep
	Aunt went to Mr. Wrights  J. F. Stanton plowed August corn

Wednesday, July 3rd, 1861

	It rained all the evening   come in a very good time
for we had just set out potater vines  nothing else of importance
occurred only Aunt was in a fine humor

Thursday, July 4th, 1861.

	Rained all night last night and rained till 12 oclock today
then held up till night commenced again raining now at 8 1/2
	Mr. S. Patterson and Miss B. Blewet came here today
Mr. H. Thomas came here, I replant the ground pea patch with
peas   Stanton and myself stoped with H. D. Thomas this evening
and eate some water melons

Friday, July 5th, 1861.

	Marked the calves 8 in No spaid and marked pigs 4 sows
finished replanting the pinder with peas
	Miss B. Bluet remained all day with Aunt
	Stanton killed a hawk   Dan, Jake and myself eate an 
orange melon at the gin house togeather

Sunday, July 7th, 1861.

	S. P. Richardson preached   no rain but very hot
Mr. W. C. Thomas dined with us and remained a good part of the
evening which was very pleasant to have his company
Stanton and all the boys called at Mr. F in the evening

Monday, July 8th, 1861.

	Commenced to plowing in the new ground cotton
for the first time since it was planted    commenced to plowing
the ground peas the 4th time   nothing els of note only Aunt
was quiet again   Miss B. Bluet went to Beries

Tuesday, July 9th, 1861.

	Aunt N Got up in a hostile mode and give every thing dinky
as she call it   She give Stanton a big scold
	Miss A. Revire come to stay a few days  Dr. Thomas come ova
	Killed 2 sheep for market   Andy and Henry helped about it

Wednesday, July 10th, 1861.

	Aunt N give Stanton another tremendus break down this 
morning   it rained this morning at 2 oclock a good deal of
thundering and lighting
	H. D. Thomas killed a hawk   Misses S and M Fain was at
Mr. H Thomas   I called and spent a pleasant evening with the 
girls and all the rest   It rained again this evening, a heavy
rain    Stanton went to Bain   Bery went to Bainbridge and got
Aunt 2 gallon jug full of whiskey for the fourth
time this year

Thursday, July 11th, 1861

	Aunt Nancy got up before sun up and commenced to quarreling
She got wors fast till she got to the top notch
	Got corn from J Ingram 9 1/2 bu amounting in all 40 bushells
for the wives of the soldiers

Friday, July 12th, 1861

	Bought of William  Wright 1 buggy at $10 to be credited
on a note I hold of B. B. Wright
	Aunt is a little calm

Saturday, July 13th, 1861

	Capt W. D. Griffin held muster at the steep head   a general
turn out os the dis    I went to Mr. B. B. Wright and beat apples
for cider.   Mr. B. B. Wrights mare died, cost two hundred dollars.
	Dr. W. T. Thomas mustered   Miss A Rivire went to Dr. Thomas
I went to W. B. Freeman for dinner  they had finish before I come

Sunday, July 14th, 1861.

	William B. Freeman is here today   Aunt is in a quarreling
mode again as bad as ever
	To knight H. D. Thomas had an ague which lasted about 2 hours
	Rev. Fag and Lady dined with us
	J. F. Stanton superintend a singing at the church   a very
nice collection of the young people, and all behaved well but 
J Fanin and J Askin were a little disorderly
