The original road coming in from the north came through where Ingram's Funeral Home now stands
then turning around we see it proceeding down the street between the Admininstation parking lot and Classics.
If you look ahead you will see what was the Forsyth County Library and is now the Sheriff's Dept. Criminal Investigation Office. In the far background over the top of the building is the chain link fence where the prisoners exercise yard is.
The road went through where this building stands and just past there began to curve to the west.
Going into the Sheriff's compound , between the old Homemakers building and the jail with the prisoners yard behind you can still see the original cut along the cemetery .
From the other end you look across the cemetery back up the road.
When the road turned west just before it left the town lot it left a small piece of ground that wouldn't fit into an acre lot and that is where they put the cemetery.
I was standing just inside of the new fence.
Right in front of me as I took this picture was this tombstone.
It belongs to Moses Whitsett. died 3 Oct 1834.
