At the back of the Church property which is on the left looking across the road on the right there was a lot of brush filled woods and the cemetery was at the back of the woods in a northerly direction. Garland and I actually had to go back to the road that runs in front of Bethlehem (Post Road), go up to the then 1st house on left (west side, asked permission and went thru the lady's vineyard, across the fence at the back, southwesterly thru the brush dried pasture grass, that was about knee high, to the back side of the woods. It was there in the edge. This is the Samuel and Hannah Wilson Holbrook family plot. Remember this was in the '70s when the population was less than 20,000 (now about 100,000). In Winnie Tallant's Migrations of Holbrook's on page 25, she has the county tax map 103 which has the square containing the cemetery shown. It shows a house on Bentley Road on the right with the cemetery in a northwesterly direction from the back of the house. (the '80s). The tax maps have all been renumbered but perhaps the current tax map showing the property northwest of the intersection of Bentley Road and Post Road might have the cemetery marked. Hope this helps. |

I am seeking information on
I believe that Hannah may have been a daughter of William B. Holbrook
(m.1st to Nancy Tallant) and his second wife, Lucinda Scott. Hannah had a
sister Hulda, with whom she was living at the time of her death in 1932.
Holbrook
According to Winnie Tallant in her Holbrook Book, p. 26 She cites as her source: Family Bible located at the home of grandson Homer Cox in 1980 in Cherokee County. She further states that William B. was buried in the family cemetery off Post Road. When I copied it, there was no tombstone, but we noted in the book that there were 3 unmarked adult graves.
Winnie further states regarding Holbrook Campground cemetery (Cherokee
Co close to Forsyth Co. line):

Thanks so much for responding to my query and for the info. you gave.
The marker is broken in half and was buried under (probably) years of fallen leaves, etc. and the vinca that grows everywhere. The marker is for a child that I believe is the child of Pernessa Holbrook Collett and her husband Archibald Collett (son of Green Collett). It is inscribed: "S C B Collett wer 1 yea 11 mo 5 da old". We also located about 10 unmarked graves--only rocks/fieldstones as markers. There certainly may be additional graves there covered by the undergrowth. Just wanted to pass this along to you and anyone else who may be interested.
